Then And Now

Once you were a kid, you used to play a lot, you never got tired. You wondered why those elder boys are rushing to office instead of playing with you, why does your uncle gets headache, why does your mom can’t see clear without specs. You wonder how can one get bored of playing video games, why your dad switches off the fans and lights, why they always scold you not to keep pets. Why they don’t eat icecreams with all the money they had, why they don’t go to amusement part on every holiday, why they don’t buy enough chocolates when you visit supermarket.
Then one day you wake up, kids running to school, birds chirping outside. They call you “Sir” in the office, and you have enough money to eat in your favorite restourant. You bought the latest bike in trend, and your friends are jealous of your hot girl friend. You even have your favorite pet, a maine coon cat, or two, or three, and your parents don’t scold you anymore, cause you take care of all their needs. You bought the latest PS3 games and completed GOW2 before anyone else in your colony. Assassins creed run like water on your Quad-core extreme pc, while making configuration of which your dad thought you were purchasing new server for your office. Now your refrigerator is full of red bulls, more than you can ever drink. You have 6 dresses for every occasion with choice of shoes and watches for each.
One day you wake up, vision blur, you missed your exercise third week in a row, still your back is paining. You don’t have a clue where did this headache came from. Your fancy lens don’t help you see better anymore, maybe time to see doctor again. Then your cats mew arount you caressing your legs, but you don’t like it anymore, you kick them, then you realize you need to fill their food bowl. You do it, what is stinking? You have to clean the poops of your cats, that is a bad way to start a day, you think in your mind. Time running out, you don’t take one hour to wash anymore, neither do you wait for geyser to heat the water warm enough. You get ready, will have to have breakfast in McDonalds again, while doctor told not to. You leave the home, then you find some pending bills near the door. Last date to pay installment of your flat, Ohh, you forgot to drop the cheque again, you wish days were of 29 hours. You rush down, childeren ask you to play with them, you give them a frowned look. Get inside your car, your on your way, when you remember you didn’t turn off lights of your kitchen and bathroom, these thoughts will bug you all day long.
Understanding things before time may be too hard, finding logic in everything your parents tell you may be too foolish, you don’t realise it until it is too late. A lifetime of bad habits, an perfect example for everything gone wrong, victim of fate with a clueless destiny. Its best to be normal rather than to be abnormal in want to be extraordinary. Don’t copy people and get a second hand personality, don’t run a rat race, there is no real competition going on. Set your own goals yourself, achieve what you need, not what your best friend wants.
